Public conciliatory committee members meet police officials

Islamabad :Following the orders of the Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar Uddin Syed, SP Industrial Area Zubair Ahmed Sheikh, ASP Abdul Wahab and DSP Baqir conducted a meeting with the members of Public Conciliatory Committee of Industrial Area in PS Sabzi Mandi. A significant number of members participated and shared their views.

The Public Conciliatory Committee serves as a bridge between Police and public and plays it's role in solving minor issues of people. This police initiative is appreciable because it has registered former government officers and revered citizens as members. The members of Public Conciliatory Committee sit in police station daily and Police officers mark applications to the Committee, then their panel consisting of two or three members listen the parties and strive their best for conciliation. If not resolved, panel gives it's decision in that matter which helps police to conduct further investigation.

Through this initiative, Police has been facilitating the Public with their collaboration. The members of the Conciliatory Committee have appreciated the police initiatives and public has also expressed satisfaction on police performance.

Casualties feared in Dir clashes between FC, intruding militants: reports

LOWER DIR: Casualties are feared on both sides as militants from Afghanistan reportedly attacked Frontier Corps (FC) personnel at multiple locations at the Pak-Afghan border in Maidan area of Lower Dir district on Saturday, as per unconfirmed reports. According to local residents and official sources, there were reports of militants’ infiltration from the Afghan side via the Shahi border area at Lamotai Top, Suripao and Safarai forest. However, the reports were yet to be confirmed by Inter Services Public Relations, the military’s media wing. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday paid tribute to an officer who embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire in Tirah Valley’s Bagh area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Khyber district, the Prime Minister’s office said in a notification on Sunday. According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today, an exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists on August 9 during which Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik was injured. SUKKUR: Slain journalist Nasrullah Gadani’s mother and two relatives have reiterated the allegation in statements recorded under Section 164 CrPC in a Mirpur Mathelo court that Pakistan Peoples Party’s MNA and his two sons had Nasrullah killed through their men.
