Eight new ICT academies to be set up

Islamabad:Huawei Technologies Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. and HEC jointly signed the Contract for setting up of ICT Academies in Pakistan.The ceremony was attended by the Chairman HEC, Dr. Tariq Banuri, Steven Yi, the President of Huawei Middle East and Africa Region, Mr. Charles Yang, President Huawei Middle East Region, CEO of Huawei Pakistan Saif Chi and other respective members from both organizations.In this agreement Huawei will set up 8 new ICT Academies across Pakistan besides upgrading of the 4 existing ones, the total number of Huawei ICT Academies reaches 23 in Pakistan. These Academies will provide the students access to the latest ICT Technologies.Further it has been agreed that Huawei will bring latest, Cloud, Storage and Security Technologies to these academies which in turn will help the Students of Pakistan be familiar and Certify on the various technologies on offer.As per the vision of the chairman HEC, Dr. Tariq Banuri, these new ICT academies will be setup in the rural areas of the country to ensure equal opportunities for the lesser privileged areas of the country.The contract signing, which is a follow-up of a DoU which was signed in China earlier this year. The event also held a detailed progress meeting on the various action points of the DoU. HEC requested Huawei for more Infrastructure Support for the various projects and bringing of new ideas into the Academia Industry of Pakistan meanwhile appreciating the steps taken by Huawei to bridge the existing gap with the Industry.Both the organizations also agreed to enhance the Huawei Skill Program to more places across the country and will also work closely towards R&D between both organizations for the transfer of Technology.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday paid tribute to an officer who embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire in Tirah Valley’s Bagh area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Khyber district, the Prime Minister’s office said in a notification on Sunday. According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today, an exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists on August 9 during which Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik was injured. He succumbed to his injuries and embraced martyrdom at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) today, it said. “At one of the locations in Bagh, Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, leading his troops from the front, fought bravely and sent four Khawarij to hell,” the statement said. “However, during an intense fire exchange, the officer got critically injured and was under treatment at CMH Peshawar. Family points finger at PPP MNA, two sons in journalist Nasrullah Gadani’s murder in Ghotki

SUKKUR: Slain journalist Nasrullah Gadani’s mother and two relatives have reiterated the allegation in statements recorded under Section 164 CrPC in a Mirpur Mathelo court that Pakistan Peoples Party’s MNA and his two sons had Nasrullah killed through their men.
