Removal of encroachments from Loi Bheer Wildlife Park directed

Rawalpindi :Secretary Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries Captain (r) Mohammad Mahmood has said that in order to protect land of Lohi Bheer Wildlife Park from land mafia, boundary pillars be erected and especially seek guidance from the map prepared by the Survey of Pakistan to protect the park’s land adjacent to Korang Town.He directed the concerned officers to ensure removal of encroachments from the land of Park and in this regard department should approach the Supreme Court through Advocate General. He emphasised the Forest officials to restore the Chak Plantation scheme throughout the province and to establish large-scale plant nurseries and accelerate the process of tree plantation. He also directed the Fisheries officials that a comparative report regarding production of fish hatcheries and expenditures be presented to him and TORs should be framed to outsource the fisheries nursery units and hatcheries.He gave these directions during his visit to Lohi Bheer and Bansra Gali Wildlife Parks, Fish hatcheries and chairing a meeting in forest department. DG Wildlife and Parks Lt. Sohail Ashraf and other concerned officers were also present on these occasions. He expressed displeasure over the cleanliness issues and lack of quality care arrangements for visitors in the Parks and warned the concerned Deputy Director Wildlife to improve all pointed out issues within 30 days otherwise strict disciplinary action would be taken against him. On discussing the water scarcity issues, he directed that ponds should be constructed to make rain water safe which will not only helpful in catering the water needs of the animals but the park too. He said that immediate steps should be taken to provide quality recreational facilities to the public at the Lohi Bheer and Bansara Galli Wildlife Parks and ensure the installation of attractive and colorful boards containing information about the animals and birds. He also stressed upon the need to repair cages and enclosures.He also ordered that deer enclosure to be restored and trees be planted on the park's vacant land before next spring.

Pragmatic steps taken to implement Axle Load Control regime on NH&MP

Islamabad: Ministry of Communications has taken pragmatic steps to implement the Axle Load Control regime on Motorways & National Highways in the country. Sole objective of this move is to control travelling of overloaded vehicles which lead to fatal accidents besides damaging the national asset of road network of billions of rupees.Prior to implementation of axle load control regime, a technical committee was formed, consisting of officers from Ministry of Communications and National Highway Authority which remained in constant contacts with transport community, Members of the Chambers of Commerce and stakeholders hailing from all the provinces. CJP questions how ‘clarification order’ made it to website

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has raised nine questions in a letter to the Supreme Court’s registrar, seeking clarification on how a Sept 14 clarification order was uploaded to the top court’s website. The Sept 14 order, issued by eight judges led by senior puisne judge Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for failing to implement the Supreme Court’s July 12 judgement, which declared the PTI eligible for reserved seats in parliament. In his letter dated Sept 21, the CJP wondered who directed the uploading of the Sept 14 clarification order on the Supreme Court’s website. His inquiry followed a note from the Deputy Registrar (Judicial), who flagged the issue of the order’s appearance on the website.
