lqbal’s concepts of self-awareness discussed

Islamabad: In order to pay tribute and inculcate the philosophy of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal in young generation, first National Conference on Iqbal’s philosophy was organised by Bahria University at Islamabad Campus.Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi was chief guest on the occasion.The theme of the two days conference, held in connection with 142nd birth anniversary, was ‘Inclusiveness of lqbal’s Philosophy and its Potential for Personal and Social Change’ included key note addresses, speeches, panel discussions and research paper presentations. Eminent speakers participating in the conference included renowned scholars and academia who shared their intellectual thoughts on the subject.During the conference, speakers deeply explored lqbal’s philosophical thought and its practical guidance for implementation in different domains of Islamic States. Speakers also shared lqbal’s concepts of self-awareness, self-empowerment through a journey of self-discovery and knowledge.Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi highlighted main aspects of Allama Iqbal’s thoughts including lqbal's philosophy being based on Quranic teachings and lqbal's inclusiveness. He said following Allama Iqbal message can lead the nation to the path of self-awareness and open the secrets of divine knowledge to us which can help us achieve balance between the mind and the soul.He emphasised that our young generation should grasp lqbal’s message and try to inculcate it in their personal lives which will help them transform into a Muslim of Iqbal’s dreams and beneficial individual for the society. Earlier, in his welcome address, Rector Bahria University Vice Admiral (r) Kaleem Shaukat thanked worthy chief guest and speakers for their presence.

CJP questions how ‘clarification order’ made it to website

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has raised nine questions in a letter to the Supreme Court’s registrar, seeking clarification on how a Sept 14 clarification order was uploaded to the top court’s website. The Sept 14 order, issued by eight judges led by senior puisne judge Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for failing to implement the Supreme Court’s July 12 judgement, which declared the PTI eligible for reserved seats in parliament. In his letter dated Sept 21, the CJP wondered who directed the uploading of the Sept 14 clarification order on the Supreme Court’s website. His inquiry followed a note from the Deputy Registrar (Judicial), who flagged the issue of the order’s appearance on the website. UN awards 2 Pakistani female peacekeepers for gender advocacy

The United Nations has awarded two Pakistani female peacekeepers with the Gender Advocacy Award for their “outstanding performance”, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. In a statement issued on Thursday, the ISPR said the awards were presented to Major Sania Safdar, part of the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Cyprus, and Major Komal Masood, who served in the Central African Republic, “for their outstanding performance and commitment in promoting the ideals of UN”. The accolades were presented by the under-secretary general in the UN’s Department for Peace Operations at its New York headquarters. “While serving in [an] international environment, both officers demonstrated exceptional professionalism [and] dedication,” the ISPR noted.
