Graduation ceremony held at PAF Finishing School

Islamabad :Graduation ceremony of the 47th batch of PAF Finishing School was held at the Officers' Mess, PAF Complex here on Friday.Dr Sania Nishtar, special assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety Division was the chief guest at the occasion.Wife of Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, president Pakistan Air Force Women Association & Patron-in-Chief of PAF Finishing School was also present at the occasion.The chief guest awarded certificates to the graduating students. Dr Sania Nishtar congratulated the students on successful completion of their personality development programme at this unique institution of the country. She also praised the standard of training at this premier institution and lauded the efforts of the faculty members in grooming the womenfolk of our society. She added that the personality development programme would bring about all-round refinement in the lives of students and help them play a vital role in the nation building.Earlier, Director Finishing School Zeba Shaukat presented a report highlighting the main aspects of the training, which are aimed at transforming young girls into useful members of society. Established in July 1996, PAF Finishing School is the first of its kind in Asia, offering various courses in communication skills, languages, management, art of self-presentation, domestic science, general culture, cuisine, protocol, art, childcare, introduction to psychology and spiritual enrichment. The school is an initiative of Pakistan Air Force for the grooming of young girls and the promotion of education in the country.

Casualties feared in Dir clashes between FC, intruding militants: reports

LOWER DIR: Casualties are feared on both sides as militants from Afghanistan reportedly attacked Frontier Corps (FC) personnel at multiple locations at the Pak-Afghan border in Maidan area of Lower Dir district on Saturday, as per unconfirmed reports. According to local residents and official sources, there were reports of militants’ infiltration from the Afghan side via the Shahi border area at Lamotai Top, Suripao and Safarai forest. However, the reports were yet to be confirmed by Inter Services Public Relations, the military’s media wing. On getting information about the alleged infiltration, troops of the paramilitary force, FC, led by Captain Yasin, Captain Asfandiar and Subedar Hamza, advanced to block the militants’ movement, as per reports. SUKKUR: Slain journalist Nasrullah Gadani’s mother and two relatives have reiterated the allegation in statements recorded under Section 164 CrPC in a Mirpur Mathelo court that Pakistan Peoples Party’s MNA and his two sons had Nasrullah killed through their men.
