Police arrest 60 outlaws

Islamabad : The Islamabad Sabzi Mandi police arrested 60 outlaws during the last month of February and recovered looted valuables worth Rs5.5 million, two cars, nine bikes and narcotics from them, a police spokesman said.Superintendent of Police (Industrial Area) Sumera Azam constituted special teams under supervisions of DSP Fida Hussain Satti, Station House Officers Sabzi Mandi Police Station to ensure effective action against those involved in criminal activities. These teams including ASIs Zulfiqar Ali, Muhammad Ramzan, Adeel Shaukat, Burhan Uddin, Asif Mehmood, Atta Muhammad and others. Succeeded to arrest 60 outlaws and recovered valuables worth Rs5.5 million, two cars, nine bikes, cash and narcotics from them.Eight drug pushers were also arrested and police recovered 5.745 kilogram hashish, 150 litre liquor and 270 gram heroin from them. Five persons were held for having illegal weapons and five 30 bore pistols were also recovered from them.During the campaign to arrest the criminals at large, Islamabad Sabzi Mandi police arrested 11 absconders wanted to police. SP (Industrial Area) Sumera Azam said that crime rate has significantly reduced in Sabzi Mandi area due to effective patrolling measures.She said that effective steps are being taken to further control crime and provide relief to citizens as per vision of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar.DIG (Operations) Waqar Uddin Syed has appreciated this performance of Sabzi Mandi police and directed to enhance vigilance to curb street crime.

3 drug pushers, bootlegger held

Islamabad :Islamabad Industrial Area Police have arrested three drug pushers and a bootlegger besides recovery of narcotics and 120 liter liquor from them, a police spokesman said.According to details, a police team of Industrial Area police station arrested three drug pushers namely Kamran, Irfan and Shamoon Masih and recovered 320 gram heroin and 210 gram hashish from them,.Another police team arrested a bootlegger namely Ansar Javed and recovered 120 liter wine, bottles, stickers and brewing equipment from him. Islamabad: Ministry of Communications has taken pragmatic steps to implement the Axle Load Control regime on Motorways & National Highways in the country. Sole objective of this move is to control travelling of overloaded vehicles which lead to fatal accidents besides damaging the national asset of road network of billions of rupees.Prior to implementation of axle load control regime, a technical committee was formed, consisting of officers from Ministry of Communications and National Highway Authority which remained in constant contacts with transport community, Members of the Chambers of Commerce and stakeholders hailing from all the provinces.
