Kashmir to appear on Pepsi Battle of the Bands 3

Music group Kashmir has been playing together for the past several years but their entrance into mainstream began last year. Emerging as the winning band on Pepsi Battle of the Bands in 2017, the six member band has had a dream run since then. They picked up an Lux Style Awards nod for their song, ‘Kaghaz Ka Jahaz’ and ultimately won the trophy. They also performed an iconic show at the Lahore Music Meet in 2018 and have released their debut album as well as a music video. In between the group has also starred in two Pepsi TVCs; one featured Fawad Khan, Zoheb Hassan, Shahi Hasan, Wasim Akram, Reema Khan and Kashmir. The second one, released just this month, served as the kick-off to Pepsi Battle of the Bands’s third season also featured the band. Among the many high points in the second TVC, one sequence has Fawad Khan singing Kashmir’s ‘Kaghaz Ka Jahaz’. But if you think this is where Kashmir’s presence in the third season ends, think again. As the band told Instep, “We met with all the bands and gave them a small speech of what’s to come.”Furthermore, Kashmir is scheduled to take the stage during this season and will be playing a brand-new track. “We’ve done one song as well; it’s a new song,” revealed Bilal Ali, vocalist for the group.

Islamabad: Ministry of Communications has taken pragmatic steps to implement the Axle Load Control regime on Motorways & National Highways in the country. UN awards 2 Pakistani female peacekeepers for gender advocacy

The United Nations has awarded two Pakistani female peacekeepers with the Gender Advocacy Award for their “outstanding performance”, a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. In a statement issued on Thursday, the ISPR said the awards were presented to Major Sania Safdar, part of the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Cyprus, and Major Komal Masood, who served in the Central African Republic, “for their outstanding performance and commitment in promoting the ideals of UN”. The accolades were presented by the under-secretary general in the UN’s Department for Peace Operations at its New York headquarters. “While serving in [an] international environment, both officers demonstrated exceptional professionalism [and] dedication,” the ISPR noted.
